A Moment of Silence-Prayer

Yesterday, there was news of another mass shooting taking place in America. Two weeks ago, there was one in a grocery store in Buffalo, NY. Yesterday, the tragedy struck an elementary school in Texas. I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate events that has taken place recetly and regarding the ones that have taken place over the years. Today, I encourage you to take a moment of silence and stand in prayer for the lives that have been forever changed by tragedy.

The children yesterday, didn’t deserve what happened. No parents deserve to send their children to school and to not have them return home. It’s a parent’s worst nightmare to think that something bad would happen to their child as they go out the door.

Today I pray for the families who have been impacted, for the community that it took place in and for those who are watching around the world.

Heavenly father, I pray today that you take hold of your people. May you comfort the lives of the families who lost their children and loved ones Lord God. May you send your peace to be upon them as they come to terms with the recent tragedies that have been taking place. May their hearts not be hardened, but filled with your love. May your strength meet them where they are in this moment of processing and may it remain with them always. I pray for an increase in their faith in you to arise Lord God as they are attempting to put the pieces of their life back together. I pray that you raise a hedge of protection upon them and their loved ones and may your grace and mercy be upon them. I thank you God for the peace of you that will keep them grounded and for the love that will continue to fill them. I thank you for the community of family and friends that will be with them to offer the support they need in this time. In Jesus’ name, I humbly pray. Amen
